Original ‘Top Gun’ Footage Shows Training the Actors Went Through

Nothing beats the original.
If you haven't already heard, 'Top Gun: Maverick' has just surpassed 'Titanic' for 7th place all time domestic box office sales. Which is very impressive for a sequel that came out 36 years after its original film. That's no easy feat.
That being said, we will always appreciate the O.G. So we've dug up some behind the scenes footage from the 1986 hit, that was just too cool not to share. Not only do we get an inside look at the fighter pilot training these guys were put through. But we also see some wholesome Tom Cruise/Anthony Edwards moments.
Some of the highlights include pilots riding a cockpit straight into a pool, then having to eject and swim their way out. Obviously getting used to the oxygen masks was another massive part of their training. So if you're a fan of the movies at all, give this a good watch. Totally worth it.
