On the Indonesian island of Halmahera, there is a volcano called Mount Dukono. While this volcano is beautiful, it’s a goddamn volcano — meaning that any journey on or near it must be taken with an excess of care.

These people didn’t do that, and soon after, they suffered the consequences. Upon reaching the volcano’s rim, the earthly beast began shooting ash and smoke into the sky — leaving the humble climbers to run as fast as they could down the hill so as to not get trapped under a layer of ash.

Maybe next time we *don’t* try to climb a volcano? There are plenty of non-volcanic mountains!
