I’ve heard about a hot mic before, but this is ridiculous!

If you’ve ever been dragged to a karaoke night, you know the feeling of just wanting the whole thing to be over. Yes, this was fun at the beginning, but do we really need to hear another drunk woman belt her way through “Call Me Maybe”?

Being stuck at one of these events makes you wish that there were some way, any way, to immediately end them. This is one option, though I’ll admit it’s a bit much.

In the video below, a man is singing karaoke when lightning strikes the building, sending a current through the microphone and straight into his body. In case you’re worried about the man, don’t be — he was interviewed the following day and apparently made a full recovery. That said, I’m sure he’s not going to be touching a karaoke microphone anytime soon
