Note to fellow adults: Please stop doing this.
As Gen Z and Gen A slang gets weirder and less comprehensible, the desire of older generations to try to understand what the hell they’re talking about grows stronger. What do all these crazy words mean? Am I really skibidi? Why won’t my kid stop mewing?!?!
While most older people generally see these words as a curiosity, some try to adopt it into their day-to-day lingo. This is almost always a bad move, coming off as cringe at best and deeply unsettling at worst.
This Australian politician tried to get some cred with Gen A by using their slang to discuss the current government, and watching it is really, really not fun.
