It can be hard to get past the midweek blues, but hopefully, these pics memes, and tweets are just what you need to make it. 

Yesterday, the official Sesame Street Elmo Twitter account tweeted out a simple question: "Elmo is just checking in! How is everybody doing?"

The answer, unfortunately, is not well. The tweet went seriously viral and has racked up almost 142 million views, with plenty of people taking the opportunity to "trauma dump" on poor Elmo. The response to the tweet was so extreme that Sesame Street even sent out mental health resources. 

"Elmo, we are tired," one person wrote. "I’m at my lowest. Thanks for asking," another person said. Some responses went into much sadder detail. 

The tweet, which was meant as an attachment to Big Bird's predicament, (he was small for a bit), turned into the biggest Sesame Street story in some time. And although it feels good to get some stuff off our collective chests, let's just hope Elmo has the mental health to cope with all of our problems. 

"Wow! Elmo is glad he asked!" Elmo concluded. "Elmo learned that it is important to ask a friend how they are doing." Yeah, Elmo. Me too.
