Face of Twitch's Most Popular Emote Incited Violence at Capitol
Until yesterday, Ryan "Gootecks" Gutierrez was the face of the most popular emote on Twitch, known as PogChamp. The emote was just an image of Ryan's face with his lips jutting outward like he's coughing up a hotdog.
Ryan mucked everything up for himself when he tweeted yesterday that more destruction and violence should be done in the name of the Trump supporter who was shot and killed while breaking into the Captiol building.
The deceased woman, Ashli Babbitt, was a conspiracy theorist, which seems to have appealed to Ryan's viewpoint.
Because Twitch didn't want to maintain any connection with someone who would use someone's death as a call to arms, they banned the PogChamp emote entirely and promised to find a better one to replace it.
After the news, Twitter folks let Ryan know how happy they were to never see his face again.
