The 1920s were a busy period in Chinese history, as Sun Yat-sen's death in 1925 led to an eventual unified nationalist government under Chiang Kai-shek, and the start of the Second Republic of China.
But while the scale of the late 20s' clashing warlords is comparable to World War I, people went on with their lives as they always have.
