24 Newly-Released HD Photos of Jupiter Looking Incredible

NASA has just released some new HD photos of Jupiter, and we have a new favorite planet. If you think a bunch of images of a singular planet may start to look similar and boring after a while, think again. Jupiter is made of ninety percent hydrogen, has an incredibly fast orbit, and gives off even more heat than it receives from the Sun. All this means the atmosphere is incredibly dynamic.

It feels as if you typed into an A.I. image generator “Photo of a planet designed by Vincent Van Gogh.” The swirls look like Starry Night but are constantly changing. Even the color varies. We think of Jupiter having beige and reddish stripes, but it's always shifting with blues, greens, and pinks. The Juno Spacecraft, which has been orbiting Jupiter since 2016, is not sitting on the job. We’re seeing images of the planet’s North Pole, it’s ninety-five moons, and all the weird beauty that makes.

Apparently, Jupiter has a “noticeable bulge at its equator” but we won’t take part in any planet body shaming. To us, Jupiter, you are perfect. If you want to see the full roundup of new pics, check out the Juno Mission images site.
