22 Times Baseball Was Ruined ... By Snow
Tonight, the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers will face off for game one of the 2024 World Series. First pitch is scheduled for 5:08 pm local time, and when it is thrown, the forecast predicts that LA will be having a nice balmy 76 degree evening. But... does that feel like October baseball to you?
The Fall Classic doesn't feel like the Fall Classic without a little nip in the air, and iconic moments like "Mr. November" wouldn't hit the same without visible puffs of breath.
Incredibly, 1979's World Series Game 1 is the only World Series game ever cancelled by snow, but white flurries have been a part of early and late season drama for as long as the sport has been around.
Something tells me tonight's game won't be seeing any shock precipitation, but you can get yourself into the cold weather baseball spirit by checking out these 22 awesome photos from times snow decided to become a part of the action.
