22 People Share the Worst Physical Pain They've Ever Felt
Just like Count Rugen infamously stated in The Princess Bride, "If you haven't got your health, you haven't got anything." We often take being in good health and feeling good for granted, that is until we experience the opposite. Debilitating pain can turn someone from an independent and vibrant person into a writhing animal, and everybody has that one moment in their life that sticks out to them as the worst pain they've ever felt. These 22 people took to Ask Reddit to share that time.
Surprisingly, the majority of these posts didn't come from external injuries, but rather internal afflictions. Sports injuries, like ACL tears, were mentioned, but as one person stated, "Waking up from knee surgery after the block wears off is probably mine!" It would appear that recovery from said injuries can be worse than the events themselves. It makes sense then that internal disorders like gout, kidney stones, and even tooth pain found themselves on this list.
Women's health also brought up plenty of issues, especially in regard to reproductive health. IUD insertion and other birth control methods are still not regularly anesthetized, but based on the testimonies here it sounds like they definitely should be. I don't think most men would take a cystourethroscopy without pain killer. If they did, maybe they'd wind up on this list.
