You're supposed to treat your expensive technology with care, but these people didn't, and their hardware has the scars to prove it. Personally, I'm dreading the next time I have to buy a new computer, with Apple charging upwards of $2,000 if you want a decent one these days. Believe me when I say I'm taking extra good care of the one I have now, and I'll be taking even better care of whichever one I buy in the future. 

I would not, for example, drop my phone into the toaster, like one person described his mother doing here. Parents teach their children from a young age not to stick metal things into toasters, but usually, they use something like a fork as their example. That makes sense, a Google Pixel 6 does not. 

But while that phone got a lot hotter than it was supposed to, one person gave their Mac Book Pro the complete opposite treatment. Worried about overheating, they decided to stick it in the refrigerator... and leave it there overnight.
