22 Fascinating Photos From More Recent History
Looking at old historical photographs is a fascinating way to learn about times past, and see the world as it used to be. But we forget that photographic history isn't just World War II or the 50s and 60s. We're all older than we'd like to admit, and the 80s are going on 40 years ago. Even the 90s are officially long gone.
As much as we like to think about those times, we can't remember everything or everyone from them, and photos like these help us fill in the gaps time might have erased. Our favorite celebrities like Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, and Salma Hayek all looked different back then, if not so different, and a few photos here give you a lovely refresher as to how you first saw them. Even Queen Elizabeth's mother looks almost exactly the same as she did. Long-lasting genetics really run in that family.
It's also fun to remember just how long certain things have been around. I for one did not realize that the Muppets have been a thing since 1955. One photo here shows Kermit singing a duet in the year 1980, and by that point, he had already been a household name for some time. Who knew a frog could outlive many of his celebrity peers?
See those photos, and many other cool snaps in this gallery of fascinating photos from more recent history.
