Though Beyoncé may have proven that there is most definitely a time and a place for her hits — who could forget Queen Bey’s performance of “Diva,” boasting the lyrics “no passengers on my plane,” at a 9/11 memorial event— one surgeon clearly missed the memo, singing “Halo” to a patient about to go under for surgery.

“Standing in the light of your halo, I got my angel now,” she crooned — admittedly impressively — to the unidentified patient lying on the operating table.

Despite her strong vocal chops, the reaction to the surgeon’s song was unanimous, several asking why, with a discography including songs called “Survivor,” “Flawless” or hell, even “Upgrade U,” she would choose to whip out Beyoncé’s “Halo” at such a tense moment.

“Girl sing ‘Survivor’ what the hell JDHSJSNNS,” wrote @sixinchbeys.

“You can see my halo? Bitch unhook me,” added @talleyberrybaby while @davesaeyes noted how this moment would be best left for the overlords of prestige TV.

“Shonda couldn’t have written this into Grey’s Anatomy,” they joked.

But regardless of whether or not the I Am... Sasha Fierce track was an appropriate accompaniment to the procedure, we can only hope they kept that same energy while administering the anesthesia: “Countdown” goes hard.
